Errata and Addenda
FGI issues updated errata sheets for all of its documents as errors are found and corrected. ASHRAE also provides an errata sheet for ANSI/ASHRAE/ASHE Standard 170: Ventilation of Health Care Facilities.
In addition, ASHRAE keeps Standard 170 under continuous maintenance and periodically releases addenda to update its content. These changes go through the same rigorous review process as the originally published material, and the Health Guidelines Revision Committee intends them to be part of the FGI Guidelines. Addenda that have received final approval are listed on the ASHRAE website.

Interim Amendment to the 2018 Residential Guidelines
In response to several state authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) who sought guidance on minimum square footages for resident rooms in nursing homes, FGI developed an interim amendment to the 2018 Residential Guidelines to address this issue prior to publication of the 2022 Guidelines. We recommend that those who own the first printing of the 2018 Residential Guidelines print out this document to use as a reference.
The language changes in the interim amendment have been already incorporated into both the second printing of the 2018 Residential Guidelines and the digital version available on FGI’s e-commerce site. The second printing features clear alert messages in all sections where these minimum square footages are addressed, along with a large alert text box on the title page and a small note on the cover.
