Michael Sheerin, PE LEED AP is a licensed mechanical engineer with over 30 years. He is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of TLC Engineering Solutions, Inc., a national top 25, full service consulting engineering firm headquartered in Orlando, Florida with nearly 450 staff in 19 offices across the USA. TLC provides MEP/Structural/Technology & Energy/Cx services for architects, owners, and contractors seeking high performance building design and operation for healthcare and multiple markets. Michael is proud that TLC is a Zweig Best Places to Work and Hot List firm winner, and the only JUST engineering organization in Florida.

Before being elevated to CEO, Michael led the Healthcare practice at TLC for over 14 years and developed their Healthcare Center of Excellence to create a consistent national team dedicated to these complex projects. He remains active in advising healthcare clients in key regulatory issues (such as COVID-19 or Decarbonization/NY Local Law 97) and is a frequent industry speaker/presenter on codes and standards developments.

Michael served as Chair of ASHRAE Standard 170 Ventilation for Health Care Facilities, involved in the standard since its inception. He also served as Chair of ASHRAE Standard 189.3 Design, Construction and Operation of Sustainable, High Performance Health Care Facilities and is a consultant for the new ASHRAE Standard 241 Control of Infectious Aerosols. He is extensively involved with the American Society for Healthcare Engineering and the National Fire Protection Association, and continually advocates for code coordination.

Michael is participating in his second full official cycle of the HGRC presently, having served as an alternate representing ASHRAE Standard 170 expertise during the 2014 edition cycle.
